| Foundation's Aims: | To allow researchers in Israel to submit, in the form of an open tender, research proposals that offer some innovation or creative application within the various areas of the social sciences. Emphasis is put on the creative and scientific contribution offered by the proposal, with no limitation in terms of the area of study or the particular topic. |

| Grant Limitations: | Funds will not be allocated for programs designed to set up organizational infrastructure, conduct surveys, issue publications, set up databases, etc., nor will funds be allocated for institutional projects. Proposals in which the researcher himself does not take an significant, active role will not be funded. Applications will not be accepted from researchers without the support of a suitable institutional framework. Funds will not be provided for researchers on sabbatical. Proposals may not be for a period of over two years, or requiring a budget greater than $25,000 over two years. Applicants must inform the Foundation of any request for funding submitted to other sources for this or similar projects, including requests submitted after the application has been received by the Foundation. |
| Comments: | The Foundation conducts the following competitions (for researchers in the social sciences only): 1. Every two years, for researchers. 2. Every two years, for young researchers (who have completed their doctorate within the previous 5 years). 3. Annually, for doctoral candidates. Grants of $25,000 are made available for senior researchers, while grants of $5,000 are for young researchers and doctoral candidates. |
