| Description: | ATID strives to enable talented men and women, young professionals from all fields, to develop the ability to make informed and effective decisions about the education of the next generations. ATID will help shape and develop the future of educational leadership for Modern Orthodoxy in Israel and abroad. These future leaders and visionaries will be the teachers and builders of educational institutions, members of the boards of directors, and the forces in setting the educational agenda within the community. ATID Fellows develop the sharpened insight, broad vision, and effective strategies to face this crucial and holy challenge. |
| Programs: | The ATID Fellowships brings 18 young educators and future leaders together each year for a program of weekly seminars examining the crucial issues facing religious education, coupled with significant individual research guided by mentors who are among the most outstanding Jewish educators at work today. The Forum for Inquiry and Deliberation in Jewish Education sponsors periodic conferences for the broad public of Jewish educators. Both programs publish their research on our website, which then serves as a resource for the community of practitioners worldwide. We also conduct school-based professional and institutional development programs in the Diaspora. |
| Accomplishments: |
- ATID Fellowships yearly draws applicants from the most outstanding young educators in Israel and abroad.
- Conference on "Substance Abuse in Yeshivot" attended by 150+ educators--creates heightened awareness and cooperation.
- Research disseminated on website used by educators worldwide.
|
| Future Objectives: |
- ATID strives to raise the level of professionalism in Jewish education.
- Attract and retain outstanding personnel to education, who will be effective and sophisticated in their work.
- Forge meaningful relationships between young educators and senior mentors who will guide toward personal and professional development.
|
| Effectiveness: | Ongoing discussions with the fellows, faculty and board constantly fine-tune ATID. Our association with the Mandel School has also been a useful tool. Their faculty, who are familiar with our work in an up-close way, yet maintain the objectiveness of an outside body, serve as a lens to improve ATID. |
