| Description: | At the center of the "Ayeret Li" educational activities is "Oz" - a movement for children aged 6-9. It is active in development towns and neighborhoods, and during the past year it has expanded its activities to the Moshavim. About 12,000 children participate in "Oz" activities, with about 20% of the children from Ethiopia and the C.I.S. The staff of instructors is comprised of Sherut Leumi (National Service) girls and young instructors from the neighborhoods. Activities are conducted after school hours, and on Saturdays in synagogues and other facilities. |
| Programs: | "Oz" has 110 branches throughout the country. One hundred and fifty Sherut Leumi instructors and 200 other young instructors have been trained for this educational work with young children. Once a year a country-wide convention/gathering takes place for "Oz" children, with regional gatherings taking place from time to time. The training department prepares the Sherut Leumi volunteers for their various roles. It also publishes new instructional materials each month. |
